CONFETI showcased at 'UAB Campus Advanced Materials R&I Days'
Laura Talens (ICTA-UAB, Sostenipra) presented CONFETI’s sustainability work at this major research event, focused on advanced materials and innovation
CONFETI was prominently featured at the 'UAB Campus Advanced Materials R&I Days', which took place on May 13–14, 2025, at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Laura Talens Peiró, Senior Researcher at ICTA-UAB and part of CONFETI’s WP6 team, had the opportunity to present her work on sustainability and environmental prevention during the event’s research sessions.
Representing the Sostenipra group, Dr. Talens shared insights on eco-design, life cycle assessment, and material flow analysis—core methodologies used to evaluate and mitigate environmental impacts across different sectors. Her presentation emphasized the alignment of CONFETI’s objectives with key policy directions of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research & Development (DG R&D), particularly those related to critical raw materials and the circular economy.
Sostenipra’s ongoing research plays a vital role in CONFETI's WP6, which focuses on environmental and economic impact assessments and system validation. Through a collaborative group approach, scientific tools are integrated with regulatory frameworks such as the EU Ecodesign and Sustainable Product Regulation (2024/1781) and the Critical Raw Materials Act (2024/1252). This approach supports the design of eco-friendly prototypes and promotes circularity in material usage.
CONFETI’s presence at the event highlighted recent progress in WP6 research and reinforced the project’s contribution to European sustainability goals.
